Congratulations, Iris Karbon, MSc!
Iris Karbon successfully defended her Master’s thesis “Off-target Effects of Biological Nitrification Inhibitors in an Agricultural Soil” on March 14th.
Congratulations, Iris, very well done!
For her master's project, Iris incubated agricultural soil from Linz and analyzed microbial functions including CO₂ accumulation, extracellular enzyme activities, and carbon substrate degradation patterns. Her findings revealed effects on non-target microorganisms, highlighting potential implications for this N-pollution mitigation strategy.
The board of examiners included Wolfgang Wanek, Holger Daims and Petra Pjevac (all CeMESS).
