Lucia Fuchslueger appointed Senior Scientist at CeMESS
We are delighted to announce that Lucia Fuchslueger has been appointed Senior Scientist at the Center for Microbiology and Environmental Systems Science (CeMESS).
Lucia Fuchslueger has been a valued member of the Division of Terrestrial Ecosystem Research (TER) at CeMESS, advancing our understanding of how plant-soil-microbe interactions drive ecosystem functioning. Her research focuses on belowground carbon allocation, nutrient acquisition strategies, and the impacts of climate change on soil carbon and nutrient cycling. Through field experiments, isotope tracing, and molecular approaches, she investigates how plants and microorganisms interact to shape ecosystem resilience and responses to environmental change.
Working across temperate grasslands and tropical forests, Lucia's research has provided important insights into nutrient limitation, root-microbe feedbacks, and the ecological memory effects that influence ecosystem responses to drought, warming, and other climate stressors.
We warmly congratulate Lucia on her promotion to Senior Scientist, effective October 1, and look forward to her continued contributions to CeMESS and the broader scientific community!
